Frank Krugel

Colonial Football Officials
From 1973 to 2006 three state associations
had the services of Frank Krugel as a
member. Starting out with the Western
Connecticut Football Officials Association,
Krugel was a member for 12 years, before
transferring to the Fairfield County Football
Officials Association until 1996. Finally, he
became a member of the Colonial Football
Officials Association before his retirement in
2005.
During his years with the Colonial Board,
Krugel worked on several committees,
including Better Officiating, and was
Assistant to the Interpreter for six years
(1997-2003). He also worked on the
Assigning Committee and New Officials
Committee.
He also served as Colonial’s at-large
member to the CFOA Board of Directors from
1999-2001.
He was a member of the Eastern Association
of Intercollegiate Football Officials from 1998
until 2004, working Division II and III games
as an umpire.
During his career, Frank worked six league
championship games in the Western
Connecticut and Southwest Conferences, as
well as the FCIAC. He worked on CIAC final
game and one semi-final.
In 2005 he was awarded the Vincent J. Reilly
Award for service to the Colonial Board.
Frank and his wife Renee have been married
for twenty-nine years and reside in Shelton.
They have two sons Zachary and Jared.
